Description
This course is part of the Introduction to Management Accounting module in level one of the ICAG professional qualification. The aim of this course is to ensure that candidates understand the role, function and principles of management accounting as it supports the decisions of management in the planning, monitoring and control of organisations. The course covers the following topics:
- Scope of management accounting
- Accounting for cost elements
- Costing techniques
- Forecasting techniques
- Budgeting
- Performance differences
The course is assessed by a three-hour examination with five compulsory questions. The pass mark is 50%. The course is suitable for candidates who want to learn the basic techniques and tools of management accounting and who have a basic knowledge of accounting concepts and terminology.
