Description
Advanced Audit and Assurance is a module in the Professional level of the ICAG syllabus. The aim of this module is to enable students to apply the relevant knowledge, skills and professional judgement expected of a senior auditor in planning and performing audits and other assurance engagements.
The module covers the following topics:
- The regulatory and ethical framework for audit and assurance services
- The engagement acceptance and risk assessment procedures
- The audit planning and strategy
- The audit evidence and procedures
- The audit completion and reporting
- The other assurance engagements
- The current issues and developments in audit and assurance
The module requires students to have knowledge acquired at 2.3 Audit and Assurance. The module also requires students to be familiar with the current developments and issues in audit and assurance.
The module is assessed by a 3-hour examination with 5 compulsory questions.
The pass mark is 50%. The module has a weight of 25% in the Professional level. The module progresses from 2.3 Audit and Assurance and leads to 3.4 Strategic Case Study.
